Project Drift, or Project D, is an elite racing team led by Daisuke Kakashi and Raymond Santiago. While they mostly have drift cars, all cars are accepted. To join, you must:
- Have a car of course
- Have ranked up from Division A
- And have at least 1 car for drifting
Project Drift was designed to help amateur racers get a new sense of technique as well as get more experience on courses designed for drifting. The team races in both circuit racing and Japanese uphill/downhill battles. The original leader of this team was named Ryosuke Takahashi. The team's 2 main drivers were Keisuke Takahashi and Takumi Fujiwara, but the original figures of the team have left since.
Origin[]
After the breakup of famous racing team the Akagi Red Suns, the leader of it, Ryosuke Takahashi, created Project D to wipe out every other racing team in in every prefecture in Japan. The group reached success, but after its peak, the 3 main people of the team left to pursue individual careers. Without a leader, the 3rd best driver in the group, Edwin Kakashi, took over as the leader of the team. After Edwin died, leadership was passed on to his younger brother Daisuke, and to legendary professional racer Raymond Santiago.
